At one point or the other, we might find ourselves in the shoes of a caregiver without realising that we are wearing them. As the name suggests, this is anyone providing care to someone for any of the various needs a person has.
Family, friends or community members such as neighbours who take on these responsibilities fulfill a crucial role in a person’s wellbeing which the professional medical systems will not be able to do.
Because supporting our loved ones is often something we just do, we might not even realise that we are a caregiver. Some examples of caregiving actions include-
